Pablo Mastroeni to miss the Whitecaps match via suspension
The question of whether or not Pablo Mastroeni would be all right to play against the Vancouver Whitecaps after he went down injured early against Sporting Kansas City lost most of its luster when he was presented a yellow card for the foul that he had been injured as a part of. With five yellow cards to his name on the season, Pablo has accumulated enough cards to earn himself an automatic one game suspension.
It's likely that we will see winger Jamie Smith playing centrally against the Whitecaps in Pablo's usual central midfield position next to Jeff Larentowicz. Jamie played the same position earlier in the season against Real Salt Lake as Pablo went down injured the game before.
Nobody else on the squad has more than three yellow cards, with Conor Casey, Ross LaBauex and Wells Thompson among the holders of the 'two cards until auto-suspension' title at present.

Like I said yesterday, declarative statements about what this team will or will not do seem to be backfiring on me when I try!
