Colorado Foxes are out of the Open Cup

Stay connected for news and updates

They won more games than their MLS brethren the Colorado Rapids, but any chance that the Highlands Ranch based Real Colorado Foxes had to make a surprising run in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup died tonight as they fell 3-1 to fellow USL side Kitsap Pumas in their home, Bremerton Memorial Stadium in Washington State.

The Foxes failed to score a single goal for themselves as the Pumas managed to score all four goals in the game. Kitsap scored first in the 17th minute, while the Foxes tally came from Puma's defender Steve Mohn who stuck it in his own goal in the 36th minute. The Foxes failed to produce anything after that, and a brace from Pumas forward Robbie Christner stopped the Foxes comeback attempts, including the closing dagger in the 88th minute.

The Pumas will now go on to play the current two time reigning Open Cup champions, the also Washington based Seattle Sounders.
